II Peter 1:5-7

For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness, and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love.

Reminder of God's Love

My Father sent a red bird today,
to sing a special song.
He knows me like no one else can.
He's Jehovah Rapha, healer
of my body, soul and mind.

When I'm in pain or anxious
He reveals Himself to me.
Many times He's sent a cardinal,
a reminder of Jesus' blood;
the ultimate gift of love.

The One Who Sees Me

El Roi, you're the One who sees me.
Your ear hears my fervent plea.
Even ebony dark of night
won't separate me from your sight.

Though I'm thousands of miles away,
your love like a bright shining ray
illuminates my frame and I
can't hide no matter how I try.

On your hand is written my name.
Each day your grace I will proclaim.
You know the number of my days.
I bow and worship you in praise!

Singing a God Song

Daaad” said big brother G.
H is disturbing me.
He's singing much too loud.
This cannot be allowed!”

Then H pleaded with Dad,
It's not something bad.
I'm singing a God song.
Now how can that be wrong?”

At this Dad had to smile.
G fell asleep meanwhile.
Dad said, “Please sing softly.”
Then he hugged him fondly.

Damaged

Damaged, frozen, broken, and bent
Shattered by everyday events
Worthless words cast into the wind
Cruel messages to hearts send

Scarred is the heart and mind by these
Thoughtless words said not just to tease
We should reflect before we speak
Kind and compassionate words seek

Gentle ones which strengthen are key
to help heal hearts and set minds free
Speak words which build up, not destroy
Those which lighten the heart with joy

God's Glorious Light

The sun's brilliance fills me with awe today

as it shines forth in magnificent ray.

I reflect upon God's power and might

as my spirits are lifted by His light.

Jesus, the light dispels our darkest night

and by His death changed our eternal plight.

His beacon guides us along the right path

and gives victory o'er condemnation's wrath.

Fitbit for My Heart

I simply must have a fibit
to wear each day upon my wrist.
A fitness tracker for my life
It's number one on my wish list.

This fitbit would work on my heart
to remind me to watch what I say,
speak gently with words of kindness
to those I pass by every day.

LORD you are my fitbit of change
the one who for help I beseech.
My soul needs your warning signal
to show love and grace through my speech.

Praise Him

God's colorful palette of hues;
orange, yellow, brown, red and blues
He boldly spread colors around
from azure sky to emerald ground.

The beauty takes my breath away.
God colors each and every day.
Sunrise brings beauty into sight
when revealed by His light.

Trees lift branches in praise
to God for His creative ways.
Vivid flowers dance in the wind
as their own adulation they send.

Sunsets gloriously arrayed
my own private alleluias aid.
All the Father's amazing deeds
my soul's deepest longing feeds.

Papa's Leaves of Love

Annual tradition
Papa's loving mission
Grandkids wish and delight
Tossing leaves to new height

What an amazing sight
Colorful leaves in flight
We'll fondly think upon
Years after papa's gone

I'm Not Alone

The journey is too long for me,
I cannot make it on my own.
He hears my plea on bended knee.
He says, “My child you're not alone.”

He gently lifts me to my feet;
then side by side we slowly walk.
Then early every day we meet;
hour after hour we sit and talk.

My Lord tells me he'll never leave.
Upon His Word I'll take my stand.
All through my life to Him I'll cleave,
my solid rock, not shifting sand.

This girl's gift is gab
secrets, she might blab
Be careful of what you say
or quick as a wink,
before you can blink
your stories she'll give away.

She's just two months old
but she's very bold.
Please don't scold this pretty miss.
Tell things she can share
and spread everywhere.
When she's grown, you'll reminisce.

Living With Eyes Open Wide

To live each moment with eyes open wide
And behold the splendor which surrounds me
Aware of my creator by my side
So grateful for daily blessings I see.

Oh to be more aware of God’s glory
And love the people He puts in my life.
To see His plan play out in my story
How He gives me joy even during strife.

Each day to see and know He loves me more
As I notice His gifts beyond measure
This precious Savior and friend, I adore.
To walk with Him is my greatest treasure.

In Your Garden of Prayer

In Your Garden of Prayer
Hold my hand when the sunshine is dazzling and bright,
When the moon and the stars bring great joy and delight
When flowers are blooming with a fragrance so sweet
Day or night in your garden of prayer let us meet.

Hold my hand when storm clouds appear in the sky
When trials abound and my heart asks you why
When the battle is raging and I feel defeat
Join me now in your garden of prayer let us meet.

Hold my hand when my blessings in life overflow
When your mercy and love in abundance I know
When I am thankful and long to fall at your feet
Then Father in your garden of prayer let us meet.

I Need You More

Oh Savior dear, I need you more than air to breathe
I need your grace to cover all my sin.
I need you now and always.
I need you more, I need you more.

Jesus, My Lord I need you more than drink for  thirst.
You give me hope which cheers my longing heart.
You lift me up when I'm down.
I need you more, I need you more.

Gentle Shepherd, I need you more than food to eat
Your words will satisfy my hungry soul.
I need your love to fill me.
I need you more, I need you more.
