Thankful Thursdays

Today was a wonderful day. Fred and I got a
lot accomplished. The house looks better, we
went grocery shopping together and didn't
overspend. We went for a walk together and
even visited a sister from church who is
recovering from surgery.

It's been a beautiful day.

I'm even working on the office room trying to
get it straightened up.

I'm thankful God helped me accomplish a lot
and Fred and I got to be together.

Wonderfilled Wednesday

My walk today was like a marvelous celebration.
The birds were singing to the God of creation.
It touched my soul and I also wanted to praise;
just seeing all the beauty your world displays.

Thank you Father for daily blessings you impart
that lift my spirits and bring joy to my heart.
May I live each and every moment of the day
aware of the good gifts you've brought my way.

Through your creation we are reminded of the story
of your power and might and we see your glory.
I will continue to find joy in the world around me,
daily noticing these precious gifts and praising thee.

Treasured Tuesdays

Today indeed is a treasured day. I spent time with
Esther. Her papa and I hid Easter eggs 4 times and
took her to the park. There is a new set of slides
and she tried all of them; even the one that was
high and fast.

I want to treasure all the time I can spend with my
grandchildren, children and my family and friends.


I think one thing about losing someone is you
appreciate the people in your life more.

I am going to try a different thing on my blog
because of my son changing his blog. I'm going
to post about magnificent Mondays, Treasured
Tuesdays, Wonderfilled Wednesdays, Thankful
Thursdays, Fantastic Fridays, Splendid Saturdays,
and Song for the Savior Sundays. At least, I'm
going to try. This makes me look at each day with
a new perspective.

I hope you try to see your blessings each day.

Lay Your Burdens Down

When my life is filled with grief,
the pain more than I can bear;
I go to the one who gives relief,
knowing that He will care.

He gives strength when I'm weary,
comfort when I'm in despair,
sunshine when life is dreary.
All my sorrow with Him I'll share.

When your heart aches from loss,
go to your Father in prayer.
Lay your burdens down at the cross,
Jesus is waiting for you there.

I Seek You

Early in the morning,
you are the one I seek;
while the sky is still dark
before the sun is at its peak.

On my morning walk
you speak to me;
through your magnificent creation
of flowers, birds and trees.

Your mighty hand
is at work each day;
guiding and molding
me as if I were clay.

At night I go outside,
look up to the skies;
ask for your presence
with me until I arise.

I Come Before Your Throne

Many people I love have
heavy burdens to bear.
I feel so very helpless, Father
so I come to you in prayer.

I have no power to heal
broken hearts or health,
no skills do I possess,
couldn't buy it with my wealth.

God, please listen as I share,
You're the compassionate one,
the mighty God who cares.
I'll lay them before you feet.
Thank you for listening
every day when we meet.

He Warms Our Hearts

Gathered round the fireplace
on a chilly winter night;
I feel the warmth
of the flickering light.
At times the world
is a cold place to live;
people think of what they can get,
not what they can give.
If only they'd look to Jesus
as their example and guide;
trust Him as their Savior
who bled for them and died.
He's the one who shows us
a love that never fails.
It warms our hearts and
helps us over trials to prevail.

The Two Friends (An Esther Story)

Mrs. Wazowsky knew this would be a beautiful day.
She stretched and crawled out of bed. At her age she
didn't jump out of bed anymore, but you had to expect
some changes with age.

She was so blessed with a nice home and now there
was her darling companion, Stella, an energetic beagle
puppy.

The sun was shining so bright. This would be a great
day to take Stella out for a walk to the park.

She placed her pocka dot hat and sunglasses on. This
new hat did wonders for her spirits. The colors just
seemed to say Spring.

“Stella, Stella”, she called. The puppy was always
excited to hear her name. Stella loved this delightful
human that she lived with.

Mrs. Wazowsky enjoyed singing while she did her
chores. Stella howled, which was her way of joining
in.

Stella loved their daily walks, although, Mrs.
Wazowsky was a bit slow. Still Stella could stop
and do a lot of sniffing of the grass and flowers.

Both Mrs. Wazowsky and Stella enjoyed their new
friendship. They realized there was a God who
created them and blessed them by giving them to
each other.

Time for their walk. They both silently thanked
God for another marvelous day together.

(Esther is Mrs. Wazowsky in this story and Stella
is her new woof woof.)

Waiting on Him

Waiting on answers I can't see.
Knowing He always hears my plea.
Waiting to see His plan unfold.
Praying my life He will mold.
Serving while the future's unclear.
Worshiping my God without fear.

Turn to God

In my life there are:

mountains to climb,
valleys of despair,
storms that threaten,
bridges to cross,
forks in the road.

Yet I know:

my Guide,
my Comforter,
my Protector,
my Hope,
my Redeemer.

Therefore, I will

take one step at a time,
seek His peace,
put my trust in Him,
seek Him daily in prayer
obey His Word.

My Path is Dark

My path is dark and I can't see.
Deliver me
O Lord I pray,
Show me the way

Lord, I need you to light my way
From break of day
Till night is here,
Please hold me near.

I open Your Word there is light
It gives me sight
At last I see
My soul is free.

You're the Missing Piece

When life is a puzzle
You're the missing piece I seek.
When I'm feeling joyful
You're the music that stirs my heart.
When I've fallen over the edge
You're the rope to which I cling.
When I'm in the middle of sinking sand
You're the foundation neath my feet.
When life seems cruel and cold
You're the fire that warms my soul.
You're my Savior, friend, redeemer,
My light and my very life.

Remember Your God

Put not your trust
in earthly treasures.
They turn to dust;
these temporary pleasures.

Put your trust in God who cares.
He sees your heartache and pain;
longing for you to share,
wanting to take away sin's stain.

Don't trust in your own might,
your bodies are weak and frail.
Trust in God who will fight.
Remember God does not fail.

My Shelter in the Storm

Gigantic waves threaten me,
yet I know the maker of the sea.
Howling winds rage all around,
I'll go where calm can be found.
Thunder crashes across the sky,
His power in my life I won't deny.
Tho lightning strikes o'er and o'er,
He will again make my heart soar.
Torrents of rain pour and pour,
trying to keep me from the one I adore.
Storms come, as they often will,
My Savior says peace, be still.
In these moments I'll seek His face,
resting forever in His love and embrace.

Seek His Strength

When there's a good work
that I need to do,
do I say I can't
my talents are too few.

Am I like Moses
who said I can't speak.
Find someone else,
I'm much too weak.

We spend too much time
saying not me Lord, I can't,
instead of looking to God
for us His power to grant.

Pray to the God
of all creation,
asking Him for strength,
giving Him adulation.

He says He will give
what we need for any task.
All we must do
is simply ask.

My Father Gives Me

the beauty of a sunrise
to start each new day.
the sun and moon
that brighten my way.
fragrant and lovely flowers
proving His love and care.
A faithful husband
so very rare.
Small birds that fly
high above and sing,
songs that remind me
of my God and King.
Children and Grandchildren
my pride and delight.
His comfort and strength
through the dark lonely night.
A loving Savior who
shed His blood for me.
An eternal home in heaven,
salvation and grace that's free.
Look at your own life
and you will see,
He has blessings enough
for you and me.

Did You See God's Blessings Today?

How did God bless you today?
Try to reflect and count the ways.
Did you see God's footprints in sand
realizing a blessing was from His hand.

He blessed me with time with Esther Sue,
walking in the sun with her changed my view.
Children notice small things of God's creation,
being with them gives us much elation.

Beautiful red bird caught my attention
with thoughts of God to mention.
If He cared so much for a tiny bird,
any fears of mine were so absurd.

Storms with tornadoes came through
reminding me life is like that, too.
We must realize God is standing near.
Only He can take away my fear.

So my day was filled with many a blessing,
It's all God's doing, I'm professing.
Look around and see what He's done,
Have life victorious through God's Son.

Reign Over My Mouth and Heart

Angry words, oh how they sting!
In our minds they continue to ring.
Angry words can part friends.
Why don't we work to make amends!

Over my mouth I need control
so my words don't take a heavy toll.
I don't want my family torn apart
by careless words that sicken the heart.

Father, help me show others it's you I seek,
tasting my words before I speak.
Never let anger rule my life
leaving a trail of pain and strife.

When hurt I'll bring you my care
lifting that person up in prayer.
Over my heart and mouth reign
so I'll never cause others pain.

Father, Hear My Plea

People I care for are hurting today.
"Father, please bless them," I pray.
Some have suffered for so long.
It just seems so wrong.

I know they must be asking why,
as they look to you and cry.
Fill them with comfort and peace,
from heavy burdens give release.

Give me wisdom, Lord, of what to say
or do to lift their burden along the way.
Use me as an instrument of your love
to show them to trust their Father above.
